Home MenuCOVID-19 Response
(date updated 4/19/2022)
According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control, the virus that causes COVID-19 is spreading very easily and sustainably between people. In general, the more closely a person interacts with others and the longer that interaction, the higher the risk of COVID-19 spread. Covering one’s nose and mouth with a Face Mask or Face Covering is a simple yet effective means to limit exposure and spread.
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the City of Avondale is communicating with public health partners at the regional, state, and federal level to make sure we’re working together to provide the most accurate information to our community and to safeguard the health and safety of our residents.

Facility Operations
Avondale city operations have resumed normal business hours (City Hall Monday – Thursday, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.)
As a reminder, many Avondale city services are available on-line or over the phone, or by mail. Customers are encouraged to take advantage of those options in lieu of coming into a city facility, to help reduce the spread and risk of Covid-19.
The City already has in place the following measures, among others, to help reduce the risk to people:
-
*Wearing of face coverings or masks within facilities are still highly recommended, especially for those who are unvaccinated. As of June 1, 2021 the wearing of masks is optional for all employees and visitors in city buildings (with exception of City Court, and public transit). Advising those who are sick not to enter public buildings.
- Encouraging interactions online, by phone, or by email, when possible.
- Increased sanitizing in city buildings.
City Court mask requirement protocols of current can be found at the following link: City Court | City of Avondale (avondaleaz.gov)

At the City of Avondale, we take seriously the direction from our public health agencies and the severity of the risk to everyone in our community.
