About the Commission
On July 25, 1950 the Council adopted Ordinance 38 which created a Zoning Commission and defined its duties and powers. The Planning Commission acts as an advisory body to the City Council on existing and potential policies, and other issues related to planning development and regulation of land use. The Planning Commission has decision-making authority for a variety of development proposals.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN to the general public that the following is the schedule of Planning Commission meetings for the 2024 calendar year. Agendas are available 24 hours in advance of each meeting posted online or at Avondale’s City Hall located at 11465 W. Civic Center Drive, Avondale, Arizona, which is open Monday through Thursday; 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., except holidays.
