The City of Avondale's As-Built Plans and Record Documents Submittal and Approval Process is outlined in Chapter 6 of the City's General Engineering Requirements. Chapter 6 provides guidance and outlines the minimum requirements for the preparation and submittal of As-Built plans.

ENGINEERING AND ROW CONSTRUCTION PERMIT SUBMITTAL GUIDELINES:

• Complete and submit an Engineering Permit Application along with 3 copies/sets of City approved plans to the Engineering Department and online by clicking here.
• Application must be completely filled out including the Contractor’s contact information, contractor's ROC license number and a City of Avondale business license number.  A business number can be obtained from the City’s Finance Department.
• A current certificate of insurance document to include liability, auto and workman’s comp coverage shall be provided with the City listed as an “additionally insured” party.  Document details
• Depending on the type or size of project, additional documents may also be required as part of the permitting approval process.  See “Application Requirements” listed on the permit application for a list of other documents that may be necessary.
• If the application is complete and all required approved plans and documents are submitted and acceptable, staff will review and process the permit application.
• The Contractor or Contact person will be notified when the permit is ready for pickup and of any fees due.
• Contractor or Contact person will pick up and pay for the permit at the Development Services Center and then receive an original copy of the permit along with a "CONTRACTOR’S COPY” stamped set of plans.

City Water Hydrant/Jumper Meter Request Application for Construction Water Uses

All City water needed for construction purposes, including dust control and pipeline testing, shall be metered from a fire hydrant source or other “jumper” connections as designated. All connections shall be protected with City approved and tested RP backflow prevention devices (provided by contractor). The referenced information forms and applications must be completed and submitted to the appropriate department as instructed.

After your application is processed and approved, you will be notified to come to City Hall to pay the necessary fees. Effective Thursday, October 23, water hydrant applicants will also have the ability to pay their application fee online. Click here to pay online (Pay or View Bills).

After payment is made, you will be scheduled to receive a City meter to be installed by the contractor along with an approved and tested backflow device. Please read and follow all the requirements included on the forms.

The current City of Avondale Supplement to the Maricopa Associates of Governments (MAG) Uniform Standard Specifications and Details (Specifications and Details) dated June 2018 replaces the existing Avondale Construction Specifications Manual dated April 2008. The Avondale Supplement to MAG Uniform Standard Specifications and Details shall be considered a Supplement to the Uniform Standard Specifications and Details for Public Works Construction as published by the Maricopa Association of Governments.

The City of Avondale Supplement to MAG Specifications and Details Manual shall be used in conjunction with all construction improvement plans within the City of Avondale jurisdiction.
